After completing Registered Nurse training in 1973 at Hillingdon Hospital she worked there firstly as a staff nurse and then as a ward sister until leaving in 1988 to undertake District Nurse training at West London College of Further Education. Having successfully completed the course (1988-1989) she worked in Hayes and Harlington as a District Nurse responsible for a team of nurses and caring for patients in their homes, liaising with GP’s and other disciplines involved with patients care.

Maggie became a Trustee for Harlington Hospice as her special interest was Palliative and End of Life Care in the Community and the need to develop this area of care in the community enabling patients to be cared for in their own homes.

As a Trustee and District Nurse she was involved with setting up Hospice at Home, Interviewing and appointing staff, giving support and training and working with the then Community Trust who were funding some of the costs of the Hospice at Home Service. Having completed Safeguarding Children and Adult training she is named Trustee with responsibility for this area. She is also the chair of the Quality Governance Committee.

Maggie became a Trustee for H4All in January 2019 representing Harlington Hospice having been a temporary replacement for a colleague since March 2018.

Having worked for the NHS for 40 years, she retired in 2009.
